Deux personnes ont péri dans une exploitation minière, après explosion d’un engin explosif ce dimanche 3 décembre 2023 à Bukomerwa, dans la localité Ivimbo, groupement Musindi, en chefferie de Batangi à l’ouest du village Mighobwe dans le sud du territoire de Lubero.
D’après des informations à notre possession, les victimes de l’incident sont tous des exploitants artisanaux des minerais qui se sont heurtés contre une bombe tendue par des inconnus sur la colline dénommée Isovovya.
Cet incident est également confirmé par le chef de la localité Ibimbo qui indique que le survivant grièvement blessé sur sa jambe a été conduit dans une structure sanitaire à Mighobwe par les personnes de bonne volonté.
”Toutes les victimes étaient des habitants de Bukomerwa”, indique la même source.
Pour mémoire, Ibimbo est une localité qui s’étend à la litorale ouest de la rivière Lusukwe à plus ou moins 10 km au Nord ouest de la commune de Kirumba.C’est une entité longtemps sous contrôle des groupes armés, d’où la nécessité aux autorités compétentes de restaurer l’autorité de l’État dans cette partie de la province du Nord-Kivu.
