Le lancement officiel des travaux de construction du marché Virunga bien d’etre effectif ce vendredi 10 Novembre 2023 par la délégation mairie de Goma en connivence avec les différentes parties prenantes de ce projet.
Ces travaux viennent d’être lancés après les accords signés entre la mairie de Goma et la banque de développement des États du grand lac BDGL le 26 Octobre dernier. Ce projet estimé à 2,5 millions de dollars vise à moderniser ce grand marché du chef lieu de la province du Nord-Kivu dans 6 mois comme l’a expliqué Serge Kamabu représentant de l’entreprise de construction Jokas Trading
” Le contrat que nous venons de signer avec les autorités urbaines consiste à la construction de 59 boutiques au tours du marché ainsi que la construction d’une chambre froide pour permettre aux marchands de bien conserver leurs marchandises. Nous allons également construits d’autres infrastructures pour offrir un marché moderne à la ville touristique de Goma ” a-t-il indiqué
Par ailleurs, les commerçants œuvrant dans ce marché se sont dits très satisfaits de voir un projet si nécessaire exécuté à leur faveur

Noter que bien que le marché Virunga ne répond point au standard d’un marché moderne celui-ci reste le plus grand marché de la ville touristique de Goma.
